warm hands

Just in case you, like me, are always looking for a source of half-finger gloves--which are very hard to find here in Forgottonia--let me direct you to www.newberryknitting.com. I stumbled on their website a couple of weeks ago. They offer half-finger gloves in both wool and acrylic at extremely reasonable prices, and although I opted for basic black, the acrylics come in a wide range of colors. They were also prompt with their handling and delivery. I got several pairs of the acrylic gloves and am happy with them so far, and I imagine their wool gloves are just as good. And for what it's worth, they're made in the USA, not overseas.

An odd thing happened last night: My clock radio's operating button moves to the left to turn the radio on for listening to while you're awake. You push it all the way to the right to have it function as an alarm. The center position is Off. Last night I crashed about 10:00--my usual bedtime is about 11:30 or quarter of 12, but last night I was in bed by quarter of 11. About 1:45 the radio jolted me awake. I looked, saw what time it was, turned the radio off, then thought about it. It's possible I left it on--I remember thinking it was near enough to news-time that I would leave it on to listen to the news, then turn it off, but I'm not absolutely certain that I stayed awake long enough to do that--I don't remember hearing the news. On the other hand, if I'd slept through two hours of music, I'm not sure why a string quartet would suddenly jolt me awake. But if I turned it off, how did it turn on? Just--weird.

I have some pictures to post--I finished a large scarf that was going to be a mobius last week, and am nearly finished with a very simple scarf I'm making out of a ball of silk chenille I found while I was stash-diving. It's always fun to go stash-diving because you never know what you might find. :)
