Seed-Stitch Sweater

As usual--I got excited about it, then decided I hated it. I was going to just toss it, but I had lunch with a friend who knits today, and she told me it's much cuter than I think it is, so I guess I'll finish it. I've got a sleeve and a half to go, so pictures soon.

I found some pants down in one of the basement standing closets (you know, the plastic zip-up kind on a steel frame). I thought they would be kind of big, since the label says 22. But--they're at least 20 years old--I'm pretty sure I haven't worn them since I moved into this house--and they fit real well. I knew American clothing makers had changed all their sizing so women could think they were wearing smaller sizes, but I didn't realize they'd changed them so much. I'm currently wearing a 16 (lost another pound!), so that's a 4-size difference--16, 18, 20, 22. So that means all those women prancing around proudly wearing a size 0 are really wearing a size 6 (0, 2, 4, 6). Which is still disgustingly small, but much more realistic than size 0. I don't think American clothing makers can make their sizing any smaller unless they go into negative numbers. Anyway, it encouraged me to get out my 16s (you see why I never throw anything away). I haven't actually done it yet, but I'll get out the 16s and then label the 18s--I take a strip of masking tape and write the size with a sharpie pen, and then put the tape on the outside of one of the legs and pack them with that side up so I can tell what size they are without my glasses. :)

I can't remember if I said that the vet gave Timber some eyedrops for his allergies. It's Neomycia and Polymixia B Sulfates and Dexamethasone Ophthalmic Suspension (if I've read that right... very tiny letters), and it's really helped a lot, his eyes are much clearer and less inflamed-looking. This makes me happy, although he's not very happy about having eye-drops 3x a day. He's very good about it and doesn't fight me, but he puts his head down and his ears back and comes into the kitchen oh-so-slowly when it's eye-drop time. I've been giving him a treat every time he gets the drops, but he's not impressed. I had to get another bottle today because (a) it's a very small bottle (5 ml) and (b) one night while I was trying to get them in I gave a mighty squeeze and squirted the stuff all over the kitchen. Fortunately it's only $10, so I think I can keep him on them until fall comes and his allergies clear up.

Taenzer just brought me my shoes. :) She'd like to go outside., but she's going to have to wait until 7, to give her dinner time to digest. Cute girl.

Ah, your dogs are clever and cute. Sam was on antibiotics the last 3 weeks for bacterial infection on his belly and groin area. I gave him the tabletts with balony most of the time. The last week he refused to take it, even without the tablets. I gave him a piece again today, he turned away his head! That's unheard of, that he wont take anything meaty. It must have been really disgusting.

I'm glad your baby sweater is not as bad as you thought. :o)
