Well, a shooting threat was found in the deposit dropbox of an offcampus apartment complex, so they've locked down the dorms on campus and students don't have to come to class, although faculty are encouraged to hold class (do you see some kind of contradiction there?).
Meanwhile, my computer at work lost my personal settings--and I mean everything--my default printer, my desktop, my wallpaper, everything. They think it might be the hard drive, so they came and took it away, and I came home (yipee!). They don't think they'll have it going until tomorrow afternoon, so I guess I'll take my laptop in and use that for e-mail and word processing. If I have to do anything else, it'll have to wait.
I'm in a mild state of panic since I use the electronic Post-It program, and if my Post-Its get lost I'm in such trouble--I've got notes for fall semester, 3 hair appointments, an August dentist appointment, all my PT appts., all kinds of stuff that I'll never remember. I probably won't even remember that I've forgotten something until someone calls wanting to know where I am.
The dogs have been out to play three times, I did my grocery shopping, and I finished the scarf. Which isn't really a scarf, it's not very long, but it's pretty and I'm glad I made it. I'll post some pictures later.
Now what am I going to knit?? I printed out a pattern for lacey socks recently; maybe I should use that pretty, pretty pastel yarn Monika sent me--seems to me it just cries out for lace. (If in doubt, make socks.)
The day is supposed to end with thunderstorms, a fitting ending to a very weird day.

Weird day indeed. I hate loosing data. I have all my photos on the computer, and I've started to back up every month. Yeah, socks would be nice. I like to knit socks to relax. They are my in between projects, projects. I can't wait to finish my shawl, so I can knit something else. Two shawls in a row is a bit much. How's the playground? Muddy? We still have snow on the ground, but it's melting a little every day. I'm not looking forward to the mud season.
