I got a ride with a friend to a nearby Menard's, where I was able to get 2 ceiling fans for about $60. One's for the bedroom and one's to replace the broken one in the living room. I need to find someone to install them, but they're sitting in my kitchen, all ready to put go.
I also got a couple more paint samples for the garage, which I'm going to try out tonight after the dogs digest their dinners.
This picture has the original color on the right and Sample #2 on the left.
You may have to click on this to get the larger picture, but you'll see Sample #2 on the left, Sample #1 to the immediate right of the door, and Sample #3 on the far right. At the moment I think Sample #2 is the right color, but it's a bit too dark. Sample #3 is too grey. I think. I looks much greener when it's not right beside Sample #1.
You wouldn't think plain sage green would be so hard to find, would you?
I treated myself to the Obsidian heuchera I fell in love with when my friend came to visit. It's soooooo beautiful! I got a few more annuals, too, and planted a couple of big pots.
The black pot needs a stronger vertical. It has two little fuschias in it that I'm hoping will shoot up now that they're out of the stranglehold of their pots, but we'll have to see. I may see if I can find some kind of grass to stick in the middle of it until the fuschia grows. There's also a heliotrope in there somewhere, and those can get fairly tall as well. Patience...
My sister assures me I have a mystery package in the mail, oh boy!, and both my brothers gave me gift certs to Amazon, so I now have the happy task before me of making up an Amazon.com order. Yay!
The only bad thing was that I forgot completely I had a haircut appointment. I knew it Friday, and I knew it Sunday, but I completely forgot about it Saturday. So today I had to call and beg forgiveness.
Very super-cute Taenzer story: She's in the habit of bringing me something after dinner. This winter it was often my houseshoes; this spring it's usually been the shoes I take off as soon as I get to the top of the kitchen steps when I come home. Yesterday late afternoon she brought me both shoes, and duly received a treat.
However, she needs to be just a tad more assertive--she'd also brought me her leash--or begun to; she dropped it in the doorway when she saw I wasn't paying attention. If she'd brought it all the way to the couch, she'd have gotten every treat in the house as well as an instant trip outside! I know, it would be a better story if she had brought me the leash after she'd brought me the shoes, but she almost did, and she had the general idea. I think she's so smart! She just lacks a bit in the confidence department. My cute girl. I'll start leaving her leash down where she can reach it and we'll work on it.

They don't need to be able to speak, they sure can tell us what they want. She's a very smart girl! :o)
Hippo birdie 2 ewe.
And based on our experiences with the master bedroom re-paint, the right shade of light sage green is a ***** to find.
