TGIF!!

Hooooweee, am I glad it's Friday! The past two weeks at work have been murder. Our Dean is on a real tear and she's making everyone's life miserable. There must be some way to impeach that woman! Plus we had to get faculty retention, tenure, and promotion files assembled and turned in--insane to ask for them this early in the semester--students have been in and out wanting to add or change classes, I've been nagging faculty to get their office hours and course syllabi--sheesh. I've been coming home, feeding the dogs, eating my dinner, and staring at the computer until bedtime.

Last night I got up to take the dogs out for last call, and for some reason "ran"--or shuffled quickly on tiptoe; there's not really room for running in this house--from the bedroom to the living room. Taenzer perked up and ran past me into the living room, jumped on the couch, and barked at me. I went "eeeeeek!" and turned around and ran back to the bedroom. Taenzer got there before I did, jumped on the bed, and barked. "Eeeeeeeek!" Turn and run. Repeat until tired, with the occasional shift in who gets to chase. :-D

In the middle of it all was Timber, standing in the kitchen with his Wubba in his mouth and this bewildered expression on his face. We kept tripping over him. He just did not grok the game at all, bless his heart. So when I was out of breath, I played tug with him, so we all had fun.

The Great Bra Search is underway (or is it "underweigh" as in "anchors aweigh"?). As I've lost weight, my bra size has changed, but not in the way I would expect--a side-effect of getting older, I guess. I've gone from a 40C to a 38D to a 36DD--the band size decreases but the cup size basically stays the same. I suppose if I needed a 34 band size, I'd have to get an E cup! So I've ordered two styles of Vanity Fair bras, one Exquisite Form, one Freya, and one Bali. The idea is to find a bra (or bras) that are comfortable, supportive, and provide lift.

The one Vanity Fair, which I think I provided a link to in my last post, I know will be both comfortable and supportive, but it probably won't give as much lift as I'd like. Because I know Vanity Fair fits me, I ordered another one; this style is supposed to provide good lift according to the reviews. It's not a pretty bra, but that's okay.

The Bali is a prettier bra, and I've had it in 38D. It provided pretty good lift but it wasn't very comfortable; I want to see whether having the real right size will make a difference. They're discontinuing it, which will be a blow if I like it, but somewhere I found a site that had one they said was "just like model 3090."

The Exquisite Form bra is kinda plain, and the only one of the five that's cotton and doesn't have an underwire, but if it fits well it could become my weekend bra--it gets high marks for comfort and I love cotton bras.

The Freya is another plain bra, and a little more expensive than the others--this site had it on sale, so I thought I'd try it. Freya's an English company--the same company as Fantasie, both specializing in larger bras, but with Freya for the younger set, apparently. Fantasie has some beautiful bras and Freya some really wild ones, and they're both very expensive, so I've been looking for ones that are on sale to try. I'm afraid to get discontinued models until I know whether bras from these companies fit me.

Other brands I'd like to try are Chantell, Fayreform, Lunaire, and Panache. Then, once I know which styles fit me, I can look for some lacy, sexy black bras and some good skin-colored ones, and maybe some colors. I got spoiled with the Victoria's Secret bras I had been wearing (their cotton underwires)--lots of nice colors and good sales.

Ok I don't know much about the subject of this post but I did appreciate all the information about "dog bloat" and the link your referenced. Thanks for sharing. I hope my GSD never has this problem but at least I now would know what to do.
