Cute Mr. T

Of course, last night those of us in Daylight Savings Time put the clocks back an hour. This means that at 7:30 this morning, the dogs were convinced it was really 8:30, as it has been for months. Now, Taenzer is the kind of dog with an enormous bladder, who can go forever without needing to potty, but Timber needs to go more frequently and I try to keep to a regular schedule for him.

So this morning I was about half awake because (a) it was the normal time for me to wake up and (b) I could hear him pacing, so I sort of mumbled "Timber--?" He jumped up on the bed, sat down beside me, leaned over and very softly went "woof!" I sort of groped around for him and said, "Do you need to go potty?"

Crash! He jumped off the bed and dashed for the living room. I was considerably slower--I need to get a robe or something so I don't have to stop to pull on jeans and a sweater and house shoes before I stumble out after them--but we got out and he peed a small river.

But that soft little "woof!" two inches from my nose--how cute is that? Maybe you had to be there.

Later on when I took them out to play, I noticed him nosing around in the grass and grunting, and went to see what he was doing. He'd apparently grounded a bee, and I think he got himself stung, but he was determined to eat it for some reason, which he seems to have done--I only caught a glimpse of it, and couldn't find it again to pick it up. I kept an eye on him, but he didn't swell up anywhere, so I guess he's okay with the bee sting. Silly boy.

Slowly but surely I'm getting the place cleaned up. This morning I got all my circs replaced--or at least all the circs I could find. Somewhere in this house are two US size 5 circs, two US size 8 circs, a US size 9 circ, and a US size 10.5. I think the 10.5s might be in the alpaca sweater I started last year and resumed last week, so presumably I'll find the others. Eventually. I've been stashing yarn in plastic bags to keep it clean and stuffing the plastic bags under the futon and loveseat to block floor drafts. At least that's the theory.

I've got my 3 projects set up--the alpaca pullover for outside, the Spring Lace socks, and the Elegant Socks, all projects from earlier in the year. I found some Opal socks in progress that I ought to through into the van, so I have a project there, too. I've been going back to work early at lunch so I can find a place to park, so I could get in 5 or 10 minutes of knitting before I had to go in to work.

I'm hoping that my gift subscription to IW Knits will include the 2008 Holiday Gifts issue. I saw the preview, and there are some things in it I'd like to make. I keep peering into my mailbox, hoping it will arrive.

Course, I'd get a lot more knitting done if I'd stop playing around with the computer. :)

Timber IS a cute boy! What would we do without them? I don't think you'll get the Holiday issue with your subscription! I have to see that I get one, once we'll get it around here. It's always worth it's prize.
