Mr. T was so cute yesterday when I picked him up from the vet after his bath. He came out from the back looking okay--I mean, he didn't look freaked or scared, just sort of like he was wondering what was going to happen next. Then I called him and his head and ears came up and his eyes lit up--boy did that make me feel good! I'd already paid the bill, so we were ready to go. He headed straight for the van, and when we got home, he stopped to pee, then ran to the backdoor and scratched on the door to get me to hurry up and open the door, already! Then he ran through the house to the front door and wanted out to poop! *lol* My guess is they hadn't taken him out--he doesn't usually pass up an opportunity to go potty. Then he wanted to be hugged and snuggled and of course I was delighted to oblige. Today I took them both with me while I ran errands so he wouldn't get to thinking that getting in the van meant going to the vet, although now that I think about it, it would be better to take them on errands individually once in a while--it's a dead give-away if the only time they come with me alone is when I take them to the vet.
He looks very very pretty. The groomer at the vet didn't do as good a job "de-hairing" him as the groomer I wanted to take him to, but she got lots more than I've been able to. She also clipped his claws, and I want to know how she got them so short without making him bleed, and how she got him to hold still long enough to get them so short. If you cut Taenzer's that short (and you'd have to hog-tie her and muzzle her to do it), there'd be blood everywhere. Thank goodness she didn't use a heavy-perfumed shampoo on him, so he smells like himself with a slight overlay of eau d'Vet, which should wear off in a day or two.
At any rate, he's his happy, sweet self, and was obviously happy to be home, so I'm happy, too.
