Nasty Tuesday

I am freezing. I'm going to have to go put another layer on.
And it's been raining all day. I've got water standing in the yard (and around the house foundations, which doesn't make me happy at all).
I had 6 paper bags full of leaves sitting out for pickup this morning, and they sat out in the pouring rain all day. I don't know how they did it, but somehow the pickup guys managed to get those soaking heavy bags into the truck, and not split and spilled all the heck over the place. Kudos to them.
Worse yet, it's supposed to rain off and on all week. Not little April showers, but "strong storms," with a threat of snow on Friday! If the house doesn't sink into the muck, the sweet pea seeds will rot. *sigh*
Well, how about a few pictures to cheer things up? Nothing except crocus was blooming this weekend, but there's plenty putting out leaves.
Here's that little crocus that popped up out of the vinca. I have no idea what it's doing there--I certainly didn't plant it, but I'm certainly happy to see it.

This is brunnera Looking Glass. I like Looking Glass better than Jack Frost (which is also coming up) because it's so silvery.

This is part of that garage garden that I'm going to have to re-think because it will be getting so much more sun this year (I think). You can see my mourning angel there on the left. I think I'll move her into the green and white shade garden by the back door. The nasturtiums are supposed to trail out over the sides of the green planter box (which is full of Asiatic lilies), and I'm hoping to grow a yellow climbing rose up the trellis. I had had green-and-gold hostas and a couple of clumps of green-and-gold grass in front, but they burned up last year.

There are daffodils and hyacinths starting to bloom--I'll get pictures if the rain doesn't pound them into the mud. Yesterday in the sun the hyacinths were starting to give off their beautiful scent. Tomorrow's supposed to be sunny--maybe it will warm up enough to coax scent from them again.
