Well, it's rained more than 3 inches over the past couple of days (I need to get a new rain gauge). My house has water all around the east side of the foundation (my sister had a good idea, to dig some trenches to carry some of it off). The sump pump is sucking its little heart out. We're under a tornado watch and a severe thunderstorm watch (wind gusts in excess of 60mph, heavy rains, "deadly lightning," large hail). I'm supposed to be sitting in the basement away from windows, but (a) there's spiders and water in the basement and (b) there are windows in the basement. There's not actually anywhere away from windows in this house. I've decided the best I can do is to take the dogs into the back hallway and close the bathroom and bedroom doors. That would protect us a little bit, until the roof fell on us...
Oh yeah, and we're also under a flash flood watch.
And it's supposed to snow tomorrow.
I've turned the heel and started on the gusset of my spring lace sock. I'm a little nervous that I might not have enough in this skein to finish the foot. That would mean ripping back to the leg--it's got 4 diamond repeats and is a bit longer than my usual sock leg length, so I could rip back and start the heel at the bottom of the 3rd diamond. I hope I don't have to do that.

we have a pantry under the basement stairs...windowless, concrete block walls...we've never had to use it. Yet.
I hope you never have to! *lol* But just in case--I hope you have a flashlight and a battery-powered radio stashed in there. Will Funnyface fit??
