HERE THEY ARE!

I finally managed to (a) get decent pictures of the sock I'm working on (although the colors still don't reproduce bright and clear enough here; they looked okay in my photo-editing program), and (b) get them from the camera to the computer with a minimum of fuss .

Once you see them you'll be scratching your head and wondering what all the fuss was about. Well--put it this way--I think blogs are better with pictures, esp. chatty ones like this one, and I've been pretty short on pictures lately.
Here's the front. I like how the diamond and lace patterns break up the stripiness of the colors (and btw, that orange isn't nowhere near as orange as it shows here--it's really a delicate peach--these colors are so soft and gentle in person).
And here's the back, where you can see what the yarn looks like knit in stocking stitch and in pattern.
What you can't see is that the yarn is ever-so-slightly fuzzy--it's 25% mohair.
It's supposed to be sunny and in the 60s today and tomorrow, so I'm planning to spend a lot of time with the dogs outside. I've set up the new tunnels (though I need to run out and get something to protect the one against the fence), so Taenzer will be happy, and Timber just enjoys being outside even if he doesn't run around as much as she does. And while they're playing, I'm going to be knitting. Maybe I can finish the first sock this weekend!

I was wondering how this yarn would look like. You did get far, despite all the troubles you had earlier.

I knew almost as soon as I saw it it had to be lace. It's so pretty. I'm about to start on the heel. :)
