I've spent the entire day doing wash, and I'm not even done. I still have a load of towels and the fleece blankets I keep out in the van and the summer blanket on my bed.
I hate doing laundry. Up and down the steps 200 times (my knees hate me after laundry day), folding, carrying...
My dream house has always had a gigantic eat-in kitchen with a pair of sliding doors that look out on--not a garden, a view. Probably the dog yard and beyond that the rolling horse pasture with trees on the hills in the distance and maybe a glint of water, a stream or pond. I can see the garden from the study/living room. Anyway, I'm going to have the washer and drier in that kitchen so I can sit and look at the view while I'm folding t-shirts and pairing socks, and I can just put the clothes basket on a little wagon and wheel it around the house.
If I can't get the washer and drier put in the kitchen, then they're going into the bathroom off my bedroom, so when I take something off I can throw it into the washer, and when gets full, I'll just do a load.
Right now I have four beach towels hanging over the fence of the puppy play pen, 4 king-size bath towels (Timber's crate bedding) hanging over the front porch walls, my lopi sweater spread out on towels on the porch floor, the cashmere-merino shrug draped over the bathroom door, 3 silk/cashmere sweaters, a cotton cardigan, and a two-layer henley hanging on the line (the last of the winter washing...), and there are two laundry baskets in the bedroom full of t-shirts, socks, underwear, and jeans waiting to be put away.
I can't get Timber to stay in the air conditioning. Silly dog. I guess he's in the bathtub; last time I called him and made him come in here he was wet.
I think I'll run the sprinkler for them tomorrow. Mid-morning, probably, before it gets too hideously hot.
Thanks to Monika for the encouragement; I went ahead and finished the bind-off on the circular sweater with solid blue, then worked the reverse crochet around the edge, and I think it looks fine:
You can see the off-set sleeve holes here. This would be "up" if a baby were going to wear it, with the longer part going over the head as a hood; turn it the other way for a toddler to wear. I've picked up stitches for one sleeve, and I think the dark wine is going to really set the hand-paint section off beautifully. Now who am I going to give it to? There are a couple of people with daughters young enough to wear it that I should have made baby gifts for and didn't. :-P
Today's soundtrack: The Carter Family. It's amazing to listen to that, and think where it all led and who all it influenced.
Excuse me--someone thinks it's time for dinner (hint: their initials are "T")

I really do think it's fine. Thi will be a cute little sweater.
So much laundry!!! That reminds me, I've got to hang mine. IT never ends, and now we have to conserve water, no rain, no rain ... a few thunder storms may come our way, but that doesn't mean they will bring us rain!
I like your dream house, very practical and spacious and with pretty view, can see it right in front of me. I like our house, but it's a long shot from my dream home, especially where it's located right now. ;o)
Have a nice, not too hot day, and have fun with nail clipping! Is it time already to do the nails of my puppies? Guess so, this never ends either! ;o)
