Isn't this beautiful? It's Cannon Beach, Oregon, 1993. My sister and her family kindly took me along when they went out to visit our aunt in Portland. While there we also went into the Cascades and also to Cannon Beach. This was the view outside our little suite. I totally fell in love. I don't know what it looks like now, 14 years later, but it was so beautiful. I'd have given anything to have been able to think of some artsy-craftsy thing I could do that would enable me to live there.
At any rate, I decided to rename my Ocean Socks my Cannon Beach Socks because the colors are so similar (even though it doesn't look like it here; the beach pic is way too yellow. The colors matched better on my picture software). [Actually, looking at in on my laptop, they're pretty darn close! Hope it looks that way on your monitor too!] Look quick, though, because it's going into the frogpond. I need at least one more pattern repeat--maybe two. The leg won't go over my heel. I'll have to add stitches after I do the ribbing so the ribbing is snug but the leg is big enough. Ah well. I am pretty happy with the look--it's got kind of a ripply sea-and-sand look, don't you think?
The circular sweater is coming along, slowly but surely. This is the toddler view--short side up. I'm still trying to decide which mom-friend to give it to.
