no more socks?

My shoulder is killing me--the one I had a "slight separation" in a couple of months ago. Why? Well, I definitely have not been toting heavy items around, but I have been knitting socks. I spent a couple of hours on the ocean sock last night (yeah, I think this scallop pattern is going to work out just fine) and about three hours on the Bayerische sock (remember the Bayerische sock?) this afternoon while watching Band DVDs. My theory is that I get this death grip on these small needles--0s and 00s--and hold my shoulder in some funny way that sets it off. It didn't bother me while I was knitting the baby sweater on 11s.

Well, I'm just going to have to find some way to cope, or to strengthen the shoulder, or relax my grip (do you know I actually bent one of the aluminum 0s?), or all of the above, because I am not giving up knitting socks.

I note in passing that my Band phase has lasted 7 months so far. Funny how these things lay in wait for you twenty or thirty years and then one night spring out and grab you and keep you happy and absorbed for months at a time.
