It's a completely beautiful day--humidity just right, skies crystal clear, temperature perfect, a blessed absence of bugs.
I feel so bad for the Ts. I keep reminding myself that this will be worth it--once the grass is going we'll have the entire rest of the year to be outside. We'd have spent the whole day outside--I'd have taken my knitting and radio and a book, a nd put out the tunnels and pool and teeter--they could have run when they wanted to and lounged in the pool when they wanted to and just laid in the grass when they wanted to. I hope we have more weather like this once we can use the puppy pen again, that it doesn't suddenly get stinking hot and stay that way for the next 6 months.
Paid bills. Have $15 left over. Looks like I'll have to raid the savings account again.
The HRperson at work called yesterday and helped me get things straightened out, so I'm going to call and try to reschedule an appointment on Monday.
I'd like to point out that center-pull balls are great for storage and for working from, but if you have to rip out, you can't exactly stuff it back into the center. I started the Bayerische socks this morning, finished the ribbing, got to the first pattern row, and discovered I was 4 stitches short. Well, yes, it would definitely help if I could count higher than 5, and I think I'd better get into the habit of counting stitches the first 3 rows. This little orange yarn is going to look good, I think, although it's way more splitty than I'm happy with. It's an amazing pattern, at least as far as I got--she does some tricky increases in row 15 where she increases 20 stitches in a way that sets the ribbing up for the patterns that immediately follow. Would that I were so clever!
Well, I think I'll walk the Ts down to the post office to mail the water bill, and try to get up early enough tomorrow to get them to the dog park before anyone else is there.
