this morning

It was raining. Again. And pitch dark, like getting up in the middle of the night. Timber sort of followed me around while I was getting ready for work, but Taenzer remained on the bed. When I came into her line of sight, she deigned to wag the tip of her tail. Once. She was pretty funny, she looked soooooo comfortable. Obviously, she saw no reason to get up. Lucky girl.

I'm taking the afternoon off, and my plan had been to take them to a local park--one at a time--for some flexi-leash time, but it's still raining. I'm almost tempted to go to Walmart (the local equivalent of going to the mall, the nearest of which is about 2 hours from here), except I have moral objections to Walmart and only go there if I absolutely cannot find something I need immediately anywhere else in town. I wish Timber hadn't chewed up my Miami Vice CDs--this would be a good afternoon for them.

On the knitting front, I started a scarf from Lavish Lace last night with the suri laceweight (once I got it untangled). It's going to take me a while to get used to that very fine yarn, and I need to see if I can find some needles with sharper tips. This yarn wants to split, and you nudge it with these blunt points and it divides right in two. It was a freebie from Cherry Tree Hill, I think; colorway Rose Garden. It's beautiful stuff; I just need to get used to handling it.

BTW, it looks like Knit Picks has the sharpest needle points. Looks like I'm going to have to place an order. :)
