The sweetest boy

Have I said how much I adore Timber? I got home, took them out to run in the puppy pen (no, really, I'm going to put the grass seed down SOON), brought them in after half an hour, changed my clothes, came out to the living room to fire up the computer.

Next thing I know Mr. Fluffy-Butt has thrown himself at my feet--he sits on my feet with his back to me to indicate he would like to be hugged. So I hoisted him onto the couch (thank goodness he's a "mini" Shepherd, only 67 pounds!) and turned so my back was against the couch arm and he was in my lap. He flopped over on his back and just laid there, relaxed and quiet, and let me snuggle and kiss that velvety fur between his ears (and find a scab where I expect Taenzer nicked him). We were both very comfortable and relaxed, and he was really warm (it's 36 outside, 60 inside), and he stayed there for an entire half an hour. It was so so sweet.

And Taenzer was very good--she didn't snark at him, she just sighed and went and laid on her "divan" (a big pile of cushions at the far end of the couch, where she can recline at her leisure and look out the window).

I love both my Ts very much.

I need to figure out what flea med I was giving Annie. I don't like the topicals, and for the past several years I've been giving her an emulsion that you mix into the food, and it prevents fleas from maturing. The new vet clinic I'm going to doesn't carry it, and I can't remember what it was called. I hate to give her more meds than she needs, esp. at her advanced age, but we do need something. Ah, found it--Program. Lufenuron, plain and simple, in an oral emulsion you mix into food. And she does need to be dosed so everyone's covered and any evil fleas the dogs might pick up outside will be unable to reproduce. Gotta call the vet tomorrow.
