Well, almost.
Put down the deer fence, which was a pain. In the first place, it's really more like that netting you put over trees to keep birds from getting to the cherries, so it's really hard to see against a dark earth background. And because it's so fine I'm putting down a double layer, hoping that will hold up to dogs in motion--the whole point of the netting is to give the grass roots something to hold onto and also to sort of spread the weight and torque of speeding puppy paws. I was expecting something like snow-fence. Don't know if this will work or not. Anyway, I guess I'll let them run on it in the morning and then put down the grass seed and straw mats. There's supposed to be some rain next week, so that should help it sprout. The daffodils that are trying to come up will appreciate not being trampled by galloping GSDs. The GSDs, however, will not appreciate not being able to gallop for 6 weeks.
Took Timber with this morning when I went to water plants and feed a cat (since I managed to bounce those checks the money'll come in handy--$50--enough for gas and some groceries). Anyhow, took Timber because he's been gazing longingly at the van doors whenever we pass it on the way from the puppy pen, and when I finished with the errands, took him for a little walk on campus. He's been very very affectionate and snuggly lately, and I always love it when he takes these spells because they're so rare. Taenzer was outraged that he got to go and she didn't, and let him have it when we got home. Kids.
