Ha!
I saw the feeder pole swaying back and forth. Looked out, there's the squirrel on the ground, nibbling at the sunflower seed I scattered for him and the cardinals. From time to time he'd look longingly up at the feeder above his head. Finally he made a running jump, hit the pole about 30 inches up--and slid down to the ground.
Heehee! I sprayed it with Pam this morning. It's not toxic to the squirrel like a petroleum-based product could be, but it's obviously slick enough that he can't climb the pole. I have to spray it every other day or so, but I'm tickled pink to have proof that it works!
