First, I must retract--apparently downy woodpeckers do eat seeds. There was one at the feeder again today at noon. Cool!

Now. First the microwave died. Tuesday the laptop motherboard went toes up. Last night just before bed the arm thing that raises the plunger in the toilet broke, AND I discovered that it's leaking from somewhere (damp floor). Today on the way home, the Check Light came on in the car--this turns out to mean there's something wrong with the catalytic converter, so I have to take it to the dealer in Springfield or Peoria or somewhere.
