Just a few dog thoughts

You know what would be fun, if one had time and money? Doing things with the dogs. There are so many cool things a person can do with a dog, and some of the breed-specific things are open to other breeds "at the discretion of the hosting club."

Of course, there are all the AKC events, like obedience, rally, agility, and tracking. There's also herding, and the classic GSD sport, Schutzhund.

Dalmation Road Trials --dogs and horses, what could possibly be better?

Dog Carting

Water Rescue (how amazing are dogs? Imagine a dog throwing itself into a stormy sea and swimming to shore with a rope in its mouth to save a ship! Or a young, untrained Newfie seeing someone in trouble in the water and instinctively rescuing them.)

Ski-jouring (can also be done on skates).

Other sports for dogs are flyball, field trials, earthdog trials, lure-coursing, weight-pulling, and French Ring Sport.

If you had the time and money--and, erm, energy--you'd never run out of fun things to do with your dog(s)!

BTW, those Satin Balls are doing the job for Taenzer; I noticed last night that her little ribbies and backbone are already better covered than they were a mere 6 days ago. :)
