catching up on knitting

Believe it or not, I am still knitting!

The little sweater I decided to do is ready for the sleeves. I goofed up--it's supposed to have a scoop neck, but I oh-so-cleverly forgot to bind off for the neck, which I didn't realize until I sewed up the shoulders. Since I'm not taking this too seriously, I decided not to worry about it--I'll just flip the "lapels" back, maybe sew a couple of big fancy buttons on them. It's a pretty colorway, isn't it?

This is the sock I decided to start--it's my outside project. Because of the stitch pattern I had to cast on 82 stitches, and I'm working it on size 0s. I'm down to the heel on this one, and am doing a regular flap heel.

This is a close-up of the stitch pattern, which I got out of one of Barbara Walker's stitch dictionaries, but I can't remember which one. And darn it, Blogger flipped the picture sideways again. Sorry about that. Anyhow, it's not quite what I had in mind when I started, but it's a fun pattern to work, and I like the cheerful colorway--I think I'm going to like these socks a lot.
