I noticed this evening that finally--FINALLY--I've got sweet peas and morning glories coming up. I forget when I planted them, but it's certainly taken them long enough. And the germination rate for the sweet peas is ridiculous--like 2 or 3 out of an entire package. Sweet peas are supposed to be easy to grow. It's supposed to rain tonight--hopefully not hard enough to beat the poor little things into the ground, just give them a nourishing drink.
I scratched some time-release fertilizer left over from last year in around the hostas, the irises, and the daylilies. I'm going to have to find something to chase off the cat that's using the daylilies as a potty place--at least so the smell indicates. And I need to find some of those fertilizer spikes for roses. K-Mart didn't have any, so I'll try Farm King.
Speaking of smells, this evening I was sitting out knitting away on the Basketweave Rib sock (almost ready to start the toe!), and there was a lovely cool breeze blowing, carrying the elusive scent of lilacs. I just sat with my knitting in my lap and my eyes closed, breathing it in. I love lilacs.

I love lilacs too! They are not ready around here, just started getting tiny leaves, but soon ...
