finished project

I finished the hooded scarf. Three skeins, with about 6 inches left over.

The first one was taken with a flash; the second one in natural light shows the basketweave pattern on the scarf ends better.

I think it'll be warm. I had enough to add some rows of garter stitch to the back of the hood to keep the back of the neck warm. It's soooooooo soft.

Taenzer graciously consents to model. (I lightened the picture up before I loaded it. Darn it. She does have eyes.)

A few more Taenzer pics. It rained like mad all night and most of the morning, then the wind picked up and it turned into sort-of-snow, so they didn't get out. Timber hibernated in his crate, and Taenzer got goofy and got herself all wrapped up in this afghan.

That's made out of Lion Brand Homespun in the Shaker colorway, which happens to be the perfect colorway for German Shepherds--neither dark nor light hair shows up on it, and it hides dirt wonderfully. *lol* It's also surprisingly warm. LB Homespun makes good afghans, light and warm, but I don't like it as garments--there's no body to it.

Timber did come out of his crate a couple of times today. One was when I was taking laundry up and down. I've kept the dogs out of the basement by reflex--I used to keep the cats' litter boxes down there--but it occurred to me that now that I have no cats, there's really no reason for them not to come down. So I called them. Timber thought about it, then when I showed him a tennis ball came down like an avalanche (those basement steps are steep). Taenzer's afraid of stairs, and I couldn't get her to come down. She sat on the top step and put her front paws two steps down, and that was it. She *wanted* to come down, but couldn't work up the courage. I know the feeling only too well. So I guess I'll work with her. I could just put a collar on her and pull her down, but I'd rather have her come down because she feels confident enough to do it.

That basement is a scary place. I bet there's about two billion spiders down there. I poked around into some corners to get an idea of what ought to be tossed and what can stay. I didn't realize I had so many empty boxes down there. I'm a compulsive box-saver because I keep thinking I'm going to get out of this house and will need boxes to move with. I suppose I could give them away to grad students in May--grad students always need boxes to move with. If I tidy things up a bit it would be a good place to play on days like this--the big room runs the entire length of the house, so I could bounce tennis balls off the walls for them, and they could wear down their claws on the concrete floor.

Provided I can get Taenzer to come down the steps.

That's a lovely hooded scarf! Nice pictures too. Our basement is a walk-out basement. One part is also the total length of the house, and we use it in bad weather to exercise the dogs. IT's great!

And from the looks of the Weather Channel, you'll get to wear it on Tuesday!

That's a beautiful scarf! And I'm glad you're out and about again. Good luck with your Pact; it sounds like good advice to me.

I promise I will send pics of my projects . . . soon. I THINK I have them on my computer somewhere. Robbie keeps "borrowing" my digital camera.

We are tired of snow, too. Our basement has a rumpus room for the boys. Thank goodness.
