This weekend is not starting well

Taenzer has diarrhea and Timber's throwing up.

No, nothing new in the way of food here, just the usual dinner and treats. Taenzer definitely has some kind of problem, but Timber looked like he was mostly throwing up bile--his little tummy has always been sensitive that way, he doesn't do well on an empty stomach. I'm going to have to figure out some way of feeding him but not her. I think I've got some rice and a can of chicken I give her, that might work. At least she pooped on a throw rug. That made the clean up easy!

(later)

Timber ate his kibble and warmed broth like he hadn't seen food for days. Taenzer ate all her chicken and most of her rice, and is obviously feeling hungry and ill-used, but I want to give her digestive tract a rest.

We'll see how tomorrow goes. I'm glad I'll be home so I can get her out if she needs to go.

Canned pumpkin is supposed to be good for both diarrhea and constipation in dogs - and you can always us the rest of the can to make yourself pumpkin soup.

Thank you, aj. They recommend this a lot on GSD-L. I've never found any unflavored canned pumpkin here in town, just the ready-to-go pie mix.

I've never had to worry about constipation with either of the Ts; Timber's pretty regular, and Taenzer, with her delicate nerves, runs more to, er, the runs. ;-) A 24-hour fast and a meal of chicken and rice generally sets her right again. Silly girl.

Do you have dogs?
