Taenzer, apparently feeling that I've spent altogether enough time doing things other than paying attention to her, just tiptoed in here and deposited my wallet on the keyboard, which is on my lap, sat down, and looked hopefully and earnestly into my face.

It was completely and irresistably adorable and of course she got treats and hugs for being such a clever girl, but it occurs to me to wonder just how she got that wallet. It was lying on top of my bag, which is lying on top of the kitchen counter. True, I'm in the living room and that's in the kitchen, but I'm more or less facing the kitchen when I'm on the computer, and you'd think that I'd see a long, slim, dark shadow with its paws on the kitchen counter out of the corner of my eye, wouldn't you?
