This is handspun Jacob wool, given to me by a very kind lady. I'm not sure how much there is. It's just shy of 2 oz, 13 wpi. (Okay, where's my yarn meter! Must get yarn meter!) Sorry it's such a dark picture. The flash washed it out. I'll try again when there's daylight. It's not really black and white, but a deep brown and cream.
This is a little dab of 60% cashmere 30% wool--72 yards. Who knows how I wound up with 72 yards of yarn--you can't do much with that. I guess I could try some kind of scarf, or maybe fingerless mitts. It's a lovely yarn--creamy colored and creamy textured. I bet it's a dream to work with.
This is just plain ol' Reynolds Paterna wool yarn, but it's such a pretty color. It's a tad light in the picture (flash again), but the color is about right--just a little darker. 110 yards.
Then there's this. It's a silk wool top a friend gave me years ago, not know what it was; she thought it was yarn. If anything could inspire me to spin, this would be it--it's just gorgeous, beautiful colors, that lovely silky sheen, and it's sooooooooo soft to handle. However, alas, I'm still not a spinner. Maybe some day I'll turn loose of it and give it to a friend who *is* a spinner and can turn it into something stunningly beautiful. The tag says there's 4 oz. of it.
I think I need to get one or both of the books with projects for 1 skein of yarn. I wonder which is the better book?

I find it problemtatic too, to have so little yardage, not knowing what to do with it. The roving is lovely. I had to laugh, when you said, the lady who gave it to you thought it was yarn or something. :o)
A year a go I would not have know the word for it, but I would have know that it was something to spin.
T's are doing alright?
I'm waiting for a response from my vets. I've read up on Spondylosis, so I understand what the vet's are talking about.
Reserve Cat is passing along his bad habits to the dog. I caught him with a ball of yarn in his mouth that he had swiped off the table downstairs and brought up to the living room to play with!
it looks almost like human hair!
