And last month Kathleen Taylor on Dakota Dreams published a pattern for lacy mitts: http://kathleen-dakotadreams.blogspot.com/2007/09/freebie-friday-easy-lace-fingerless.html She suggests you can knit them out of nice snuggly wool and wear them over those cheapy stretch gloves for warmth and decoration.
What a good idea! So I think I'll use my left-over Old School Tie sock yarn to make some fingerless mitts to wear over my cheapo stretchy black gloves. (Um--oh, yeah, I'm supposed to be making socks, aren't I? Well, it'll happen. Really!)
Meanwhile I've got this song going around in my head. It's like that Hundred Bottles of Beer on the Wall song, only worse, since my own head is coming up with it. It's the T-Song, and sung to the tune of Rubber Duckie. For instance:
Little puppies, you're the ones,
When I'm with you we have fun,
Little puppies, I am awfully fond of you.
or
Little puppies, kiss me twice,
And I'll give you something nice,
Little puppies, I am awfully fond of you.
or
Little puppies, you are mine,
You make the sun shine all the time,
Little puppies, I am awfully fond of you.
There must be more to that song than just the three lines and if anyone can point me toward a recording of it I'd be eternally grateful. Meanwhile, my brain just keeps churning them out:
Little puppies, you're so sweet,
You're so fine you can't be beat,
Little puppies, I am awfully fond of you.
Little puppies, you're so nice,
And I love your dreamy eyes,
Little puppies, I am awfully fond of you.
Little puppies, make a gale,
Wag your furry, fluffy tails,
Little puppies, I am awfully fond of you.
Here's a challenge to those of you who read this regularly: write a verse for the T-Song. Maybe I can come up with a little suprise for the person who comes up with the best verse. :) Get to work! It's easy!
Little puppies, I love you,
Hootchie-kootchie poochie-woo
Little puppies I am awfully fond of you.
