HE TRUSTS ME!!--and oh yeah, sock content

My darling Timber. I was leaving the bedroom after changing my clothes. He'd been in Taenzer's big wire crate and got up to come with as I left the room. I was in the hall when he started screaming, so I ran back in to see what was wrong, and he was crying and struggling, but as soon as I got to him, he stopped crying and held very still while I checked to see what was wrong. He'd somehow managed to get one of his back feet through a space below the crate door, so I very carefully worked him loose. But what thrilled me is he didn't keep fighting when I got there to help, he held still and let me help him. He trusted me to help him. *sigh* I'm so happy. I love you, my Timber-boy.

Meanwhile--here's what I'm calling my Flickering Flame socks. Not a very original name--there are at least two Flickering Flame patterns I know of. It's actually the Tidal Wave pattern, but the colors are better for flames, right? Sort of, anyway.

Anyhow, now I'm working on the foot, and it really shows how brilliant the pattern is at breaking up stripey hand-dyed yarn. Look at the difference between the patterned leg and the stocking-stitch foot. The colors are pretty, but all those little stripes are kinda boring, don't you think? But the patterned leg is much more interesting to look at.

This shows the pattern pretty well, but the colors are too light and bright:

This one doesn't give you any idea of what the pattern looks like, but it shows the colors more nearly true:

Oh my, you made my heart beat faster! Isn't it wonderful when they trust you? Both, Sam and Biko come running when they hurt themselves somehow and let me help them. Should it be something stuck in their paws, they come running and hold their paws in the air and wait patiently for me to fix it.
