Taenzer's 3-1/2 and she's never had a bath. She hasn't needed one, imho. Poor dog never has a chance to get really gloriously filthy dirty, and she has no doggy smell, her skin and coat are in excellent condition so--no baths.
But she's coming close. It's really dry here, and so when she wallows in the kiddie pool and then dashes around the puppy pen, after about 45 minutes I no longer have a black and silver GSD, I have a solid black GSD. I've started rinsing her off with the hose before we come in--legs, chest, tummy, britches. She tries to bite the spray--she's always been a water-puppy--so I imagine on a hot day she'd actually enjoy a bath using the hose (cold water). Of course, once she's rinsed I have to towel her off, and cover the couches with big beach towels because she's so wet. I can't imagine giving Timber a bath--he's got so much coat it would take him FOREVER to dry. You'd absolutely have to use a high-powered blow-dryer on him.
Poor boy had diarrhea again tonight. He held it until I got home, but he was definitely anxious to get outside; I'm glad I decided to wait and go to the drugstore tomorrow. There were hairballs in it, like cat hairballs (you know you're a dog person when you closely examine your dog's runny poop), but no blood, thank goodness. He was really hungry last night and polished up his chicken and rice in about 30 seconds flat. He seems to be feeling all right, he's been bringing me his ball and he chases Taenzer around when they're out to play. So I guess I'll give him chicken and rice again tonight and keep an eye on him.
I'm still trying to get a picture of him in the bathtub, but they're getting camera-savvy--as soon as I pick the camera up they stop doing whatever cute thing I wanted to get a picture of. I should start wearing the camera around my neck or something.
Thunder. I hope it rains. Gently, not like the north Texas downpours. So far it's thunder, lightning, wind, and just enough rain to smell, but not enough to get anything wet.

Sam hasn't had a shampoo bath in two years. He likes to get hosed down and bites the spray with delight, on hot days. I'm glad Thunder has his appetite back, that's a good sign.
Aren't they funny when they play in the water? Taenzer's always liked to play with water coming out of the hose, the goofball.
My boy's doing better today, I think--he had a nice solid poop this morning, and was so hungry I gave him a cup of Innova Evo. So we'll see how he does overnight.
I'm glad to hear he's doing better!
