Knittin' and the Ts

So here it is with one sleeve almost finished. What do you think? Does it help? I think it'll be okay for a 2-year-old boy, don't you?

Ts are very upset, esp. Taenzer. After getting crated yesterday, they decided to go on a hunger strike and neither of them ate their dinner, so after half an hour I picked the bowls up and put them in the fridge. They were both like, "Hey, wait, where are you going with that?" I was hard-hearted and the bowls stayed in the fridge. They each got a chewy before bed as usual, and one in their crates before I left for work this morning. So when they got their dinners back this evening, both bowls were clean and polished in about 30 seconds flat.

But they're also unhappy because I'm not being mom-as-usual--I've more tired than usual--fell asleep while listening to music last night and was in bed by 10:30 instead of the usual 11:30, then overslept drastically this morning--quarter of 8!!! I was only 5 minutes late to work, but I dropped things, tripped over things, nobody got morning snuggles...

Things like that make them both very unhappy. They both like order and routine. Timber reacts by spending even more time than normal in his crate, and Taenzer leans on me, nudges my hands and arms, licks all of me she can reach, and is just generally anxious in her body language and behavior. For instance, instead of having her ears up and mischief in her eyes when she nudges her nose under my elbow, she has her ears back, her body curved, her tail down, anxious eyes.

So I have some fences to mend over the next couple of days.

Current book: Testament by John Romer
Current soundtrack: Moondog Matinee by the Band (yes, I'm still in my Band phase)

I think for a two year old boy it will be fine, expecially since there will be a lot of blue once the second sleeve will be done.
Sam had seven surgeries so far: 2 elbows, 2 knees, one knee a second time (almost broke my heart), his testicles where not down, so they had to cut him open to look for it, and he almost tore off one of his toes, so surgery it was.
They do need their routine, don't they!

Poor Sam! That's awful! So far I've been lucky with the Ts--just elective surgeries--spay/neuter, and they'll both get stomach tacks this summer.

Boy, I bet he's seen a lot of crate/enforced quiet time. Poor guy. I bet he really appreciates being able to run around when he wants to.

Give him and Biko a hug for me!
