T Extravaganza!

(I must say, I'm very happy I spent the money for this camera (a Canon Powershot)--I think I'm more than getting my money's worth!)

After weeks of avoiding the camera, the Ts had an explosion of cuteness and I got some pretty good pictures--imho. They make me happy, anyway.

I love this picture; it just breaks me up every time I look at it. Sweet, gentle, loving Taenzer shows her true colors, at least as far as her "baby brother" is concerned. The ball is his. She picked it up from right under his nose and took it to the couch. I just love this look--would you try to take that ball away from her?

More seriously, note the classic body language--forward ears, hard eyes, direct gaze (if looks could kill!), wrinkled muzzle, lifted lip, forward shift of weight from Taenzer; ears back, soft eyes, slight averted gaze, extended neck (he wants his ball, but he's not quite brave enough to risk crossing her line), some stress shown in the panting. It's too bad more of his body isn't shown here--I imagine his tail is either horizontal or slightly up.

Timber: "Mom! A little help here?"
Taenzer: "You little pipsqueak."

Timber appears to be most relaxed in this picture; Taenzer is still ready to reinforce her claim on the ball.

Timber tries to retrieve his ball from a different angle! Notice how Taenzer's overall body posture has relaxed in comparison with the first picture, but her nose is still pointed toward Timber--she's keeping her eye on him.

Whoa! Alert! What's that?

Timber's still more interested in his ball--note the sideways ears.

Neither T wears a collar in the house to prevent the kind of tragic accident that can happen if two dogs wrestle and one gets caught in the other's collar--people have returned home to find one dog strangled to death and the other seriously injured from trying to get free from the collar.

Ah. What we do on rainy afternoons when Mom's at work. Not every toy in the toy box was out, but it looks like it!

Note houseshoe on the keyboard in front of the monitor. That's Taenzer's work--she likes to carry pieces of my clothing around. She never harms them, and is always rewarded when she brings me something. Reinforce that retrieve!

How handsome is this guy? Doesn't he just melt your heart?

Mom and Timber in snuggle mode.

There was supposed to be a picture of Taenzer sitting up here, but I couldn't get her to cooperate. I'm giving her the hand signal AND voice cue, and she's sitting there going, "I have absolutely no idea what you want me to do," while Timber, off to the side, was sitting up and barking: "Me! Here! See? I'm doing it! I can do it! Where's my treat?"
