Playing with the camera

Okay, I figured out how to do the continuous shoot mode. Sort of. It took some practice, and I got shots like this:

and this:

But I also got a few like this:

Pretty amazing, isn't it?

I took about 200 photos altogether, and got maybe 20 half-way good ones and maybe 2 or 3 exceptional ones, but I guess that's about normal for any photo session. The most annoying part is that I got shots of Taenzer taking off for a jump and landing, but I never got one of her in mid-air. You'd think one out of 200 photos would have caught that. Well, I'll just have to keep trying. Nor did I get one of her with the ball way high in the air--she's tossed it out over the 4-foot fence more than once.

Here's a link to my Yahoo photo site, where I've put up about 10 of the good pictures. http://tinyurl.com/2bqf2x Be sure and double-click on each one, because they're even better when they're big (size does matter in some cases!), and also because I've left some comments on each picture.

There aren't spectacular ones of Timber, because Timber just isn't the athlete Taenzer is. He mostly trots around after her, holding that blue ball all the time--he never puts it down--bashing her ball whenever he gets a chance. But it was in the 70s the day I took this. Timber doesn't much like hot weather to start with, and it had gone from like 45 to 75 in two days, so he hadn't had any time to acclimate and he spent a lot of time standing in the shade. So his photos are a little more static, but he's so beautiful it doesn't matter much.

Next time I'm going to try the movie option.

Current soundtrack: None; watching John Romer's Ancient Lives
